Specific points on acupuncture meridians are stimulated either by the placement of extremely fine, sterile, disposable needles or by acupressure on these acupuncture points. Most clients feel no or minimal discomfort, warmth, tingling, numbness, dull ache or spreading energy. This is called the "Qi sensation". Length and frequency of treatments vary with each individual, according to each condition. Some clients may experience immediate relief, while others may require additional visits. Chronic conditions take longer to resolve than acute ones. After treatment, clients may feel energized or deeply relaxed. Acupuncture is well known for its effectiveness and lack of side effects.
